I was born and raised primarily in the Blue Ridge Mountains of South West Virginia. In junior high all the way through high school, I was part of journalism clubs and held ranks on the Yearbook and Literary Magazine staffs at Salem High School. It was then during my position as Layout Editor on the Literary Magazine, The Delphi, that I found my niche, graphic design.

I graduated with Honors in 2004 and aquired my B.F.A. in Graphic Design at the Savannah College of Art and Design in August 2008. My residency now rests in Brookyln, New York.

Im not complex in the least bit. I enjoy the simplicity of things, but love it even more if it's just plain smart thinking. I graciously accepted the responsibility as a graphic designer to make a mark on society, communicate with the world and influence thinking, seeing, hearing, feeling and smelling (what the heck, why not?)

The interaction between design and society and the influences one has on the other interests me greatly. I like to read in depth essays on graphic design, like in Michael Breuit's "79 Short Essays on Graphic Design" and the "Looking Closer" series. I'm also a daily follower of the Design Observer.

I have no one set way of doing things aethsetically. I love dirty, grungy stuff and clean, bold stuff too. I love more of a hands-on methodology with my work, much thanks to my Fine Arts background. I tend to want to incorporate actual hand drawn work or found textures and items. Sometimes I'll even use my own scanned handwritting.

I think I'll always be a graphic designer because I don't ever want to stick to one medium too long, I want to know and touch in all. That means I've got pleanty to keep me busy
